Received an email from a friend, Catherine, who just told me that she got engaged this past weekend while on a trip to Gatlinburg. No date set yet but I'm hoping to hear from her soon. Congratulations!

My brother-in-law lost his mother today very unexpectedly. She'd fallen yesterday at home and was taken to the local hospital to be checked out by a physician. Once there they'd found she was having abdominal problems. They took her in to surgery this morning around 4 to repair the problem. The doctors didn't give the family much encouragement regarding her recovery. She passed away this afternoon after 2 p.m.
